There are tons of apps out there for tracking your wardrobe. We know we’re not the first, but we do hope to be the easiest and most robust for luxury. Here are a few ways to archive your closet with Future Reference today, so you can resell later without the hassle.
The easiest way to create a digital wardrobe
We make it easy to add items from your actual closet to your digital archive.

Method 1: Linking
Importing items via links is the easiest way to add to your wardrobe.
- Find your item online, copy the URL and paste it into the form.
- Your item will either automatically import, or you may be given a warning that the website is not yet supported.
- If the item does import, click into the item details to save your size.
If the item does not import, we recommend using our Chrome extension to gather the details, or your link will also automatically be submitted for manual review.
Note:
Items manually added will not get an Email Verification tag when they are resold. To get the Email Verification tag, you must email us the receipt to link to your Archive.
Method 2: The Future Reference Chrome extension
Future Reference's Chrome Extension identifies products as you shop or checkout. Click the extension to add items to your Archive from hundreds of stores and dozens of merchants.
- Shop online as you normally do.
- Click the Future Reference extension on any product page. You can review the item details and add/edit info using our element selector. If an item is already in our archive, you won’t be able to edit the details except for your personal purchase info.
- Select 'Add to Archive'.
Again note that items manually added will not get an Email Verification tag when they are resold. To get the Email Verification tag, you must email us the receipt to link to your Archive.
Method 3: Forward your receipts
Let us do the work for you. Simply forward order confirmation or receipt emails from your inbox to uploads@futurereference.xyz. Please make sure that the email you forward from matches the email on your account.
- Go to your inbox and search for "order confirmation"
- Select all the relevant emails you want to send to Future Reference.
- Click 'Forward as attachment'
- Send to uploads@futurereference.xyz
We will email you again once your item(s) have been uploaded to your archive. This usually takes ~24 hours. Receipts received on weekends will be processed the following business day.
We are only able to process order confirmations for apparel and accessories purchases from our accepted brands. We are also only able to process order confirmations that contain a photo of your item, along with an item description. Without a photo, there is no way of verifying whether we are uploading the correct item for you.
Helpful tips:
Set up automatic forwarding so we'll automatically get any new receipts that come to your inbox! Setup rules from your desktop to bulk-select old receipts and send them all at once.
- Open an order confirmation or receipt email from an online retailer that you shop at frequently
- Tap "More"
- Click on 'Filter messages like this'
- Setup to send to uploads@futurereference.xyz
Method 4: Gmail (coming soon)
Coming soon, we’ll be adding a Gmail integration. Link Future Reference to your Gmail and we’ll automatically pull in purchases as you make them. We’ll also mark them as e-receipt verified, which helps when you go to sell.
